Frontage Laboratories Is Pleased to Welcome Dr. Yuxiang (Richard) Huang, PhD, as Vice President, BGCT and Genomics Services
EXTON, Pa., October 19, 2026 – Frontage Laboratories, Inc. (“Frontage”), a leading global CRO/CDMO, is pleased to welcome Dr. Yuxiang Huang, as Vice President, BGCT and Genomics Services. Dr. Huang brings more than 20 years of biotechnology, advanced therapeutics, genomics, and process development experience to the role. He has extensive expertise in cell and gene therapies, recombinant antibodies, CMC strategy, and GMP manufacturing readiness. In his previous roles, he has managed multi-million-dollar development budgets and supported more than 15 technology transfers alongside more than 10 IND/BLA programs.
Under a matrix reporting structure, Dr. Huang will report to Dr. Tony Liu, SVP and Head of US CDMO supporting BGCT services, while reporting to Dr. John Lin, Co-CEO, in supporting Genomics Services.
Prior to joining Frontage, Dr. Huang served as an independent CMC consultant, advising biotechnology organizations on manufacturing strategy, CDMO selection, technology transfer, and clinical supply planning. Previously, he was Executive Director and Head of Cell and Viral Vector Process Development at Minaris Advanced Therapies and held Senior Director and Executive Director roles at WuXi Advanced Therapies. In these positions, he directed large-scale, multidisciplinary teams of up to 38 scientists and engineers to scale up and transfer development processes into GMP manufacturing environments. His teams successfully transferred more than 15 programs across modalities including CAR-T, TIL, HSC, MSC, NK, lentiviral vectors, and AAV.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Huang led sequencing activities supporting TCR-T discovery at Gilead Sciences’ Kite Pharma, where he managed whole-genome, whole-exome, RNA, and single-cell sequencing workflows. During nearly nine years at Illumina, he held progressive scientific and team leadership roles supporting HiSeq X, NovaSeq, and iSeq technologies, contributing directly to sequencing platform innovation and manufacturing process improvements.
Dr. Huang is recognized for his scientific depth, collaborative leadership style, and ability to translate complex client needs into coordinated development plans. His unique combination of genomics innovation and advanced therapeutics development experience will further strengthen Frontage’s BGCT and Genomics Services capabilities and support the delivery of high-quality scientific services to clients.
Dr. Huang earned his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Hong Kong. He also holds a Master of Science in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Sichuan University. He is an author of peer-reviewed scientific publications and a contributor to patented sequencing and flowcell technologies.
