Oversee the day to day operations in the Frontage animal facility. Ensure that all the employees conducting studies in the vivarium are compliant with Frontage SOPs, and follow safety rules and regulations. Provide guidance and mentorship to all his direct reports. Ensure that all studies are conducted in a timely manner while maintaining highest quality of data. Author SOPs, ACUPs, and IACUC protocols required for proper functioning of the animal facility. Act as the chairperson of the institutional animal care use committee (IACUC) so that the use of the animals is consistent with AAALAC requirements. Schedules IACUC activities. Liasion to attending vet. Designee for veterinary care and animal welfare. PI for client studies. Interact with clients. Oversees all discovery and regulated (GLP/EPA) animal studies. Contact person for ensuring that Frontage animal facility meets all the AAALAC requirements and the certification is maintained during the course of its operation. Monitors use of controlled substance in the vivarium.
B.S., MS, or PhD in Biological Sciences, Animal Science, or Related Discipline. AALAS Certified Laboratory Animal Technologist.
